I was born in Russia but grew up in Georgia in a lovely town called Batumi on the Black Sea coast near the border with  Turkey. Batumi's location made it a mini-Babylon; a real melting pot of nationalities - Georgian, Adjarians, Russians, Armenians, Greeks, and Kurds each bringing with them their own languages, religions, cultures, customs and, of course, food!!!

 

I have been living in England for almost 30 years but still have so much passion for Georgian food!

9 years ago I have published my first recipe book on Amazon Kindle called "It's Not All Borsch, You Know!", where I have translated my favourite family recipes into English and this year, (thanks to lockdown), I have started my own YouTube channel "Lena Cooks You Eat" where I demonstrate how to cook Georgian-style dishes step-by-step. All my videos are available on my website under the "Channel" section. I am adding a new ones weekly.
